MARF, the Minnesota Amateur Rugby Foundation, is happy to announce the hiring of a new Y.R.P.M.; Katie Sjeklocha.
Katie has been involved with various roles in the Minnesota rugby community for over 8 years. She started her Rugby career in high school with the Wayzata Girls Rugby Club, then the University of Minnesota Women's rugby club, Her level of play took her to both U-19 and Collegiate Minnesota Select Sides, and the Midwest Women's Collegiate Thunderbirds. She has also had coaching, administrative, and youth involvement with her affiliated teams and the community. Most recently she was MARF's Rookie Rugby Facilitator. We very pleased to have her join us and lead our Youth Rugby development team.
Please welcome Katie to the position, we are confident you will find her an effective resource for supporting and growing our High School and Youth Programs.
Rob Clarno
The Minnesota Amateur Rugby Foundation (MARF) is currently spreading Rugby to Physical Education classrooms, and after-school programs across the state. We realize the power that programs like Rookie Rugby can have in developing rugby players at a younger age. We also realize that Rugby is a great tool for positive youth development, the sport teaches teamwork, leadership, and camaraderie. MARF's dedicated efforts to expand Youth Rugby are critical to our collective success.
Our trained staff is available to come to your classroom or organization and introduce Rugby to your children! During my time working to develop Youth Rugby, I have introduced the sport to over 2000 kids in 4 years. The excitement shared by myself and the children involved in the program is enormous. MARF provides PE teachers will all of the necessary Rugby resources to start integrating Rugby into their curriculum.
The Minnesota Amateur Rugby Foundation is constantly updating and adding new locations to our calendar. After 2 months of Physcical Education involvement, we have introduced the game to over 2500 kids grades K-12.
