MARF provides financial support for individuals and teams on a track to National or International competition.

MARF is a charitable foundation committed to promoting leadership, quality, viability, and recognition for the game of rugby in Minnesota. Our Mission is furthered by providing financial support for individuals and teams on a track to National or International competition. Although not affiliated with the Minnesota Rugby Football Union, MARF works closely with the MRFU given the mutual benefit for this work. Grants: Grants - A giving of funds for a specific purpose.

Currently MARF awards grants solely for: players trying out for national or international rugby selection or for players on USA national and/or USA international rugby teams (US Eagles).

Grant Criteria

Individual requests - Players selected to play for USA Rugby’s National Team including Senior Men and Women, U-23 Men and Women, and U-19 Boys and Girls. Grant recipients are required to volunteer time (per grant received in an annual year) by attending youth camps, coaching workshops and clinics produced by MARF or any other rugby related or sanctioned event. Must be complete within 12-months of receiving a grant.

Applicants MUST be CIPP registered with Minnesota club.

Applicants MUST provide MARF with a photo(s) and personal story of your experience within 1-month of the event you received the grant for. Applicants must grant MARF the right to publish the story and photos.

Grant Amounts -

1. $150 for USA Rugby Trail or Development Camp

2. $250 for USA National Domestic Competition

3. $400 for USA Rugby International Competition

*maximum of $400 per person

Grant Process

Applicants must complete a grant request form. (Applications must be received 2 weeks prior to the event.) Completed Grant Request Forms will be forwarded to MARF Board members for review prior to the next meeting of the Board. Each Grant will be discussed and final approval granted by motion and vote by majority. Applicants will be notified by the Chair or designated representative as to the disposition of the grant request. The Treasurer will make funds available as soon as possible following the meeting in which the grant was approved.

Follow-up may be requested by report from applicant on use of funds.

The decision on the Board is final. The Board will not be obligated to fund every request, if it does not meet the required criteria or if the requested amount is beyond the means of our Grant budget amount available. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
